The city of Hroonabad is located on the edge of the famous Cholistan desert in southern Punjab close to the Indian border. Before the colonization the site of the present Haroonabad was known as Toba Badru Wala, later on , it was renamed as Haroonabad after the name of Prince Haroon-ur-Rashid one of the sons of Nawab of Bahawalpur Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Khamis. The economy is based on agriculture , cotton being of major importance followed by wheat, Cauliflower and sugar cane. Punjabi is the local language of the region.Punjab College, Haroonabad has been established in the city and it is located on a beautiful place Fateh Khan Town, 72/4-R Haroonabad. It has a well elevated, spacious and furnished building. It has segregate girls and boys sections with independent entrances and protected by fully equipped security. It houses air conditioned class rooms, state-of- the art laboratories and a well-stocked library having trove of books. Sports and co-curricular activities are as important as academic activities on the campus because our rationale is to groom and luster the students on the modern lines. We aim to produce persons who will grow and learn throughout their lifetimes of work, affection, creation and reflection. We have a highly qualified and experienced faculty to achieve our aims. Our faculty produces world-class research both individually and as part of collaborative interdisciplinary groups, working across traditional boundaries to stimulate innovative thinking. The college is affiliated with Board of Intermediate and secondary education, Bahawalpur for teaching of intermediate classes.
